U can try a squared anti malware.its a 30 day trial and has real time protection We are a freeware forum, so it would be good if we discuss about freeware only please:). About A-Squared, the installation is itself huge, and as AvCrazy mentioned, the updates are huge too. That's why I haven't given A-Squared a try yet. Earlier, I had quite a small hard disk, and therefore I could not give it a try.
Emisoft Antimalware costs twice as much as most other antivirus software, and you have to buy a second product for sandboxing, which Avast's standard price product includes. Music4Ever reviewed v7.0.0.18 on Feb 3, 2013.
Now, I have a large hard disk, and I may think about giving it a try sometime. If you can deal with the false positives. A-Squared should be thing to keep. Apr 2010 09:39 AM. The huge size of the programme and the updates is really a minus point. One can manage the programme download since it is through a browser and if the connection drops during the download, Firefox 3.6.3 (or it's download manager add-ons) will resume from where the break was. But the updates (as huge as the programme) are direct from the site.
Does anyone have advice on how to download the updates in case the broadband connection is a bit problematical? The other question: Let's say we have installed on one computer and managed to update as well. Is it possible to use the installer on another computer and copy over the updates, to avoid a duplication of downloads? Anyone tried? I'm asking only because the updates are huge!
Apr 2010 09:58 AM. Kyuzo, I installed twice before the ASquared free Version and the only reason why I have not keep it for good in my computer is because for some reason after scanning with it my task manager always shows 2 explorer.exe running, and that bothered me because when I searched about that issue I never found anybody else mentioning it elsewhere. Other than that I thought the application was great and fun if you like playing with false positives. I personally don't mind false positives at all and I will install it again in the future, and if the explorer.exe issue in my computer don't happen again, then I will keep it. It was easy to install and uninstall and I downloaded the installer from File Hippo, I remember, because from their home page they link you to Download.com, and I don't trust them at all. I remember that the second time I installed A2 the amount of FP where less than the first time and most of the FP from the first time had been fixed. Bo Anupam 22.
